Letters! (and Lost)

Parker has 4 different sets of letters and they keep him occupied all day long. He literally says, "Play Letters?" when I open his bedroom door in the morning and they are the last thing he is begging to play with before he goes to sleep at night. He can't have a bath without letters, he even wants to take letters to his bed when he sleeps and to the table to eat. He only stops to watch a video, which is about letters, and even then, he is holding some of his letters in his hands while he watches. I am glad that he is so excited about something educational, but it gets quite boring for me, playing letters ALL day. So we come up with new letter playing ideas, such as: letters playing soccer, letter snake (pictured above), hiding letters, letters on the fridge, make up stories about the letters, letters down Daddy's shirt, you get the idea... He also likes to put the letters places (i.e. in a box, in a basket, under a pillow). He found a new place to put the letters, as pictured below...On baby Autumn!

Attempting to get out of the house and away from the attack of the alphabet, we had a 'picnic' at the mall. Pretty much we brought lunch to eat and play at the play area (Dinosaur's Bones). We eventually wandered around the mall and into Deseret Book. I was pushing the stroller, talking to Paul on the phone and following Parker around, when I noticed he had made a quick turn out of our aisle and I could no longer see him. I hung up the phone and looked to see which way he had turned and didn't see him anywhere. To make a long story short, it was the scariest 7 minutes of my life, which ended with Parker being carried to me by the security guard from the mall. Parker was just smiling and saying, "Policeman, Mommy! I guess we will just stay home and play letters!

Four Months!

Our little Autumn is 4 months old. I can't believe how fast time goes by! We had her 4 month check up today. She weighed in at just over 15 1/2 pounds (88%tile) and is 26 inches long (96%tile).

We love our little angel. She really is a sweet little baby. She sleeps through the night and hardly ever cries. She loves to smile and laugh...(unfortunately, she gets mesmerized as soon as she sees the camera which makes it hard to get a picture of her big smiles. I am still trying.)

She rolls over and can hold her head up really well. We are now working on sitting up. She is definitely a finger sucker and can often be seen with two of them in her mouth, sometimes four. She loves her big brother, Parker. She smiles and laughs at him, even when he is not trying to make her laugh. She has gotten pretty good at grabbing her toys and sticking them in her mouth.

Pokey

We took a trip to Pocatello (AKA Pokey) this past weekend to celebrate our nephew, Jordan's, birthday. We had a lot of fun! Jill and Ron and family came too! We went to Craigo's, had a birthday celebration and played games (The Great Dalmuti and Catch Phrase). My favorite was watching the balloon catching game (drop the balloon from over the ledge and run down the stairs and try to catch it before it hits the ground). Most of all, it was just fun to relax and be with family.
