Little Helper

Parker loves the kitchen. He can be easily entertained when I let him "help" me make dinner. He just stirred this pasta sauce around for about 20 minutes. Of course, he took a few spoonfuls in between. We have also been told that he spends most of his time in nursery at the play kitchen.

In other news, Parker's walking continues to get better. By Thursday, he was getting up by himself in the middle of the room to start walking. He loved showing off his walking skills at church yesterday. It is exciting to see him choose to walk on his own and take quite a few more steps.

Life has definitely slowed down a bit here and it has been fun to have time to get together with friends and just spend time together as a family. Life is good.

Parker is walking?!

Today, Parker had an appointment with the Provo Early Education Program (PEEP). A Service Coordinator and a Physical Therapist came to our home and did some standardized testing on his fine and gross motor skills. It went well, but before they left I was feeling like they hadn't done much in the way of helping him walk, or even watching him walk with help. But then, the physical therapist set up this little station with our furniture. She started with the chair and ottoman closer together and moved them slowly further apart, moving the balls from one to the other. And sure enough, there he went. I almost cried. He doesn't need the balls to lure him anymore. He thinks it is so fun! I really can't believe it. We have tried to lure him so many times, not with this exact set up, but the same idea and he refused. Thirty minutes with his new best friend, the physical therapist, and he is walking across the room! It is just a few steps, but if you have ever tried to get him to take even one step, then you know how big this is. I am sure you would all like to see for yourself...

"Field Trips" with Parker

The weather has been so unpredictable lately. One day it is warm and perfect for a walk and the next it is snowing and you don't even want to step outside. It is on these unexpectedly cold days, that you have to get creative. Parker gets tired of being in the house all day and so do I. Here are some of the fun excursions that we have taken.

The first is a trip to the mall to "ride" the fun cars! Parker is happy to just sit in them and hold the steering wheel, so I don't even put money in (Besides I never have any quarters and Parker is such a chicken that I am pretty sure he would get scared if the cars started moving).

Our latest field trip, (today), was a little drive down to the pet store. Here are some pictures of Parker with the cute little puppies, although he preferred watching the fish.

Of course, I usually have to make a few stops of my own. Parker scored these sweet sunglasses on a particularly trying day at JoAnn's.

This past Sunday afternoon, Paul and I took Parker up to Bridal Veil Falls. It was a really nice day and it was fun to just be together as a family, now that things are finally starting to slow down for the summer.

Boy or Girl?

On Monday, the 5th of May we get to have an ultrasound and find out whether we are having a boy or a girl. We have not had any specific feelings one way or the other, but judging by how big I feel, I would say we must be having twins! Of course we would be excited for another sweet little boy or for a precious little girl. At this time, we just want to give each of you the opportunity to take your pick. What do YOU think it will be? Leave us a comment and let us know. (For those of you who are not sure how to post a comment or may have had trouble in the past, just send me an email and I will post your guess for you.)
