Law School Halloween Party

Today was Parker's Halloween Costume Debut. The Law School had a Halloween Party for the students and their families. He enjoyed pizza, trick or treating to the law students desks, but most of all being with Dad. What a cute little lion!

He is not picky though. He will even watch High School Musical with me. He loves the music!

Parker's Herd of Toys

Parker likes to gather a few toys, usually balls, and herd them around the room. He throws one, then another close to the first, and another in the same direction. Then he crawls to them and starts all over. It is really quite fun to watch. This could go on forever, until he comes to a cupboard he can open at which point he proceeds to put each ball in the cupboard one by one, opening and closing the cupboard each time. He loves putting things in the cupboards. (Hey, maybe he was always heading there to begin with.)

Earlier today, after I put Parker down for a nap, I hurried to get ready to run on the treadmill for a bit. I was looking everywhere for my running shoes. I was really baffled and couldn't think of any other place they would be. On a whim, I opened one of the kitchen cupboards, and of course, there they were. I laughed out loud. What a sneaky little guy!

The Dice Game

Last Sunday we had a Ward Walk N Talk (I am going to call it
that even if it is not supposed to have that name anymore). Pretty much people in our ward gather at someone's home on Sunday evenings for treats. This past Sunday we decided to finish the gathering off with a game (described above).

Sarah and Rebecca advanced to the finals, for the girls. Paul and
Tyler advanced, for the boys, or men, Paul would want me to say. I am happy to say that in the final round, Paul won and Rebecca came in second. Both first and second place will advance to the Dice Game Tournament to be held sometime in the near future. Note: Those already advanced to the tournament: Charles and Julie Allen.

Parker "Reading"

Parker likes to "read." The other day as he was playing on the ground with his toys, I witnessed his newest trick. He picked up one of his books, opened it and then put it right up to his face and talked in it. Then threw it down and did the same thing with another book. I think he is trying to read. I have since been trying to capture this on video for the blog world. I managed to get a quick sample of it. Enjoy!

"Law Schoolers"

Paul joined the "Law Schoolers" intramural frisbee team last week. He had fun, but says he is really out of shape. It was fun to watch frisbee again, but Parker and I got rained on. Parker loved watching the frisbee go back and forth and trying to catch the rain with his tongue. We eventually had to go to the car and Parker was upset about that.

This last week Paul had fall break, which means that he didn't have class all week. You might think that this would mean I would see a lot more of him. He had a big paper to write, so he stayed just as busy. We did get to go out to dinner and a movie and he did surprise me with breakfast one morning. He really is so good to me.

Our Little Gangsta

Parker's Aunt Jill and cousin Lauren taught him to throw down some gang signs. I hope he doesn't get himself into trouble.

Parker had his 12 month check up today. He is doing great. He measured 29.8 inches long and weighed in at 20 lbs. 6 oz. They sure do grow up fast!

Getting into Mischief

Occasionally, I get the chance to babysit Trevor, Parker's cousin. The two boys are only a few months apart so they can be a handful. Sometimes they fight over the same toy, scratch each other and knock each other down, but for the most part they are happy to sit and play separately.

It was just such an occasion, when I decided to run upstairs and get a drink. I promise I was only gone for a minute and when I returned, neither one was in sight. The toys they had been playing with had been left on the ground. I then noticed the laundry room door open.

Apparently, both boys had quickly made there way in to the laundry room as soon as I left. It seems they play together just great when they are getting into trouble! They are so much fun, but they sure do move quickly.
