Parker and Autumn

Parker is almost 3 and a half. He is growing up fast and learning so much. Lately, he is constantly trying to sound out letters. He loves to use his puzzle letters to spell words. He loves to read books and has started asking what words mean that he has never heard before. He loves the idea of learning to read all by himself and has become successful in the case of small words. While riding in the car the other day, he said, "Mom, is that store called Ozz?" He read the sign and he was right. He is now in Sunbeams at church. It is fun to ask him what he learned. Some of his answers; "Jesus was a baby" and "I am going to go to the temple." His little brain is soaking everything up and it is so fun to see.

Autumn is almost 1 and a half. She will be in nursery next month, which means that Paul and I will actually get to enjoy all of church again, at least for a little while. She recently started to want to read books all day. She has a couple favorites ('Cuddly Kittens' and 'Frosty's New Friends'). She has been saying lots of new words. Some of them recognizable to all, but a lot of them just recognizable to me. She does animal sounds (dog, duck, cat, cow, elephant, lion, sometimes snake). She also loves to dance and 'sing' to music. She likes to do action songs, like Popcorn Popping and The Wheels on the Bus. As mentioned in the previous post, she climbs on everything. It is fun to watch her explore the world with her new talent. She is a really sweet girl. When Parker is crying, she will go and give him a hug (which he doesn't always want). She is a snuggler and we love it. She wants to do everything Parker is doing, like sitting the big table, as seen below. It makes her seem so big. I can't believe how fast she is growing up.
