California Getaway

While Paul was getting ready for finals, I took the kids to California to visit my family and get out of Paul's way. We had fun playing with Grandma and Grandpa and all of the cousins. It was great to be some where for the kids to run around and just relax. Here are some of the things we did:

• Played around the house with Grandma and Grandpa. Parker helped Grandma water the plants and plant a tomato plant.
• We spent a day at my sister Kristin's house with her family. Parker and Autumn were completely entertained, as you can see by the pictures.
• We went to the beach with Grandma and Grandpa. Autumn was scared of the waves and didn't even want to walk into the sand. Eventually, we got her to enjoy the sand, but neither she nor Parker ventured anywhere close to the water. They had fun playing in the sand and looking for seashells.
• I got to visit with my old roommate, Meredith. (Parker took this picture.)
• We also got to visit Paul's sister, Julie. Parker was so excited to play with her and Autumn warmed up really quickly.
• Of course, we went to River Kwai. (A really good Thai place in Riverside).
• I went to dinner and to see "The Last Song" with my sister, Kristin, and my sister-in-law, Brandy.
  
• Dinner and lounging with family on Sunday afternoon.
• A quick and uneventful trip home.
